Again I spent a lot of time at different meetings focusing on “Digitalisation”.
Please let us get one thing clear now:
“Digitalisation” happened in the 1970s. It was an attraction, when Roger Moore alias James Bond wore a digital watch. Back in 1973!
Using this term to describe current transformations in the production sphere, rather underlines the problem, that we are not in technologically fast changing times, and that a lot of people simply don’t understand what’s happening around. The problem is, that we are still relying heavily on the technologies of the 1990s with very little progress.
Playing the digital bullshit-bingo unfortunately doesn’t solve the innovation dilema of the present.
I wrote a comment on that, for the Austrian Business Magazine “Wirtschaftsnachrichten”.
